Haha, that title totally works for my poem AND it really IS raining outside right now, currently at this moment in Michigan! AHHHHH! Okay, so I don't really know if I can use that as my title for my poem, but I got quite a bit done, just not as much as I need. I need a lot more to this poem. I want to share with you what I have go so far and you should leave a comment before the end of this day, Tuesday! And that poem I got was amazing! It inspired me. :) Well, here goes nothing:
Powerful storm with lightning, thunder, and rain is a thunderstorm
Updraft racing with speed of 90 miles per hour
Tremendous gusts of wind, rain, startling lightning is how one will form
Cold air sinks, warm air rises, convection gives it power
Lightning is deadly
And can turn you into a human medley
With just one stoke
You'll be dead and broke
Wind so cold it is chilling to bone
Objects getting thrashed about in air
Children frightened by the thunders' drone
Now what should I add, or what should I take out? Because it doesn't have that feeling JUST yet, but I think it's a start. Now the problem is that I have to have the states or region, season, months, dates, heat, wind, moisture, air pressure AND the process. Plus a description of damage and safety. See? That is supposed to be a poem? I am toast. I really really REALLY need help.
Yours Truly,

Ok, first, list out all your facts. Region? Check. List where thunderstorms are normal. What do those places have in common? Lots of flat plains, no mountains, lakes, rivers, what?
ReplyDeleteSeason? Check. There's only four of those. Which one has the most thunderstorms?
How does a thunderstorm form? Low air pressure, moisture (from where?), heat (before, after, from where?)
Damage? Supa-check!!! Darkness falls as power goes out. Flash floods on the local level. Hail. Lightning taking out trees and starting fires.
Safety? Don't go outside. If you're outside, seek shelter.
Write down all those facts, then start looking for synonyms (words that mean the same, try a thesaurus). Start tweaking synonyms to find rhyming pairs. Take your rhyming words and build sentences.
